Television



        Television is an electrical equipment with a screen on which you can watch programs with moving pictures and sounds. It is a great gift of science and technology. It was invented by a Scottish scientist J.L Baird in 1926. It has become one of the commonest means of communication where the electricity is available.
       People can buy television sets according to their interest s and capacity. The price range of televisions starts from low to high. They are available in cheap price also. Electricity is necessary to operate it. Television should be kept in a certain place in the room of the house. Nepal Television is the official television channel of our country.
       Television broadcasts are designed to inform, educate and entertain people. People are informed with national and international news through announcements, notices and advertisements. Television broadcasts include some educative programs on literature, health, sanitation, etc. The television programs carry songs, dramas, serials, interviews, etc. The live programs on sports and other functions are broadcasted on television. People are also informed with the news of innovation in science and technology.
    Television is thus useful to keep ourselves informed with the knowledge on various fields. It gives news, views and entertainment. The children can watch the programs in the television, which help them in their study, too. The television programs make the children smarter, imaginative and intelligent. It is also a powerful medium of expanding business. The television channels raise the awareness in the people. They help the people widen their knowledge.
      There are some disadvantages of television too. The children can neglect their study and watch the television programs all the time. They may copy the bad things seen n the television. Thus we should not spend much time on the television. We should watch only selected and useful programmes. We should not neglect our study.
