Summary

            The story , The Recurring Dream is  a supernatural story. Kimberly Clark who is the major character is the victim of the recurring dream. She is a pretty woman who lives in London. She loves dancing and making friends and has good position in office. However, she has a problem in her life. The problem is the mysterious dream that she sees every night. It is mysterious because it is a dream about a person and the place which are strange to her and a recurring dream too.

    The storage dream always begins on a country road that has a white fence and a hedge on each side. At the end of the lane, on the top of the small hill there is a small cottage with green shutters. In one of the room, she finds a little man with white hair and white beard man sleeping in the bed. As she opens her mouth to speak with him, she wakes up in her apartment in London. Kim tells about the dream to her roommate Janet Wilson. One day Janet tells Kim to go out to her parents farm for a few days.

          On Saturday morning, they leave the city in Janet's car. As soon as they are away from the city. Kim sits back and sleeps on the back sit. A little later, as Janet turns her car into the country road, Kim wakes up. Kim requests Janet to stop the car because she tells that it is the same country Lane and the house that she has been seeing in the dream. As she stands in front of the cottage, she finds everything exactly the same, except a sign in front of the 'FOR SALE'. Kim knocks the door of house and in a minute, an old man with white beard and white hair appears at the door. When the old man sees Kim, his eyes open wide and closes the door. She tells the old man not to close the door because she has a talk with him. She asks the old man about the house. He tells her that he is sure that she will not buy the house because the house is haunted by the ghost. In the questions of who the ghost is the old man replies it is Kim.

1.  What do you think is the reason some people have recurring dreams?

Different people have different aims, missions, desires, etc. But all these desires, aims, missions don’t get fulfilled or achieved due to which people become mentally depressed, harassed, disappointed, etc. In my opinion due to these depression and sadness only people have recurring dream.

2.  Why do you think Kim has this dream?

   Kim works in London and has good post in company. I think Kim has this dream because she wants to buy the cottage or she wants a life partner as she is a pretty unmarried girl of twenty five years old.

3.  In your opinion, why does Kim wake up each time she tries to speak to the man in her dream?

     In my opinion, Kim wakes up each time she tries to speak to the man in her dreams because she may be looking for a young handsome man. She is a pretty unmarried girl of twenty five years not for the old man or due to strange personality of old man she used to become frightened and wake up each time when she tries to speak to the man in her dream.

4.  Why does Janet want to take Kim to her parent's farm for a few days?

Janet wants to take Kim to her parents farm for a few days so that Kim could get relief from the recurring dream that has troubled her a lot. By going to the peaceful environment of the countryside, she could forget her dream and be mentally peaceful.

5. When Kim sees a cottage like the one in her dream Janet does not want to go see it. Why?

When Kim sees a cottage like the one in her dream Janet does not want her to go see it because she thinks that there may be some mysterious thing in cottage so, that Kim has recurring dream also it may be dangerous for Kim.

6. Why does Kim body shake when she sees the little old man at the door of the cottage?

     Kim has recurring dream in which she sees a little old man with white hair and white beard. Due to seeing same little old man with white hair and white beard as in dream Kim's body shakes.

7.  Why does the little old man close the door when he sees Kim?

   The little old man close the door when he sees Kim because he claimed that Kim was the ghost who haunts the cottage daily at night.

8.  Why does Kim say something about the "FOR SALE" sign?

    Kim has recurring dream in which she sees a cottage with same green shutter. Kim sees the same cottage on the way to Janet parent's farm. Kim says that there was not any "FOR SALE" sign in her dream.
